General Hexagonite is the rare manganese-rich variety of tremolite and is distinguished by its lilac to purple color. It is found in only two counties in New York.
Hexagonite was supposed to be a hexagonal form of tremolite, but turned out to be monoclinic. Hexagonite of this size and quality is just not seen anymore. It is beautiful and historic.
